Description:
The BCS and the NCDS are closely-related studies that track a group of people from birth over their childhood and then adult lives. In the last few waves of surveys, there has been a code for working in the non-profit sector. The survey includes education and skills.
Both surveys are based on those born in one particular week in a certain year: the BCS in 1970. The latest BCS was conducted in 2004 but there were five surveys between the 1970 and 2004 surveys. This data enables analysis of the types of people who move into the voluntary sector over time.
